Here is a nice little article I wrote. Please, pass on comments as to how I make it better....

Before Columbus ever said the world was round; it was still round. So when Columbus made a bold move by saying the Earth was round he was not crazy he was just stating the truth that those before him refused to accept. Even though logically speaking it makes perfect sense to anyone today that the world is round, and in the time of Columbus it was logical to say the earth was round also. The scientists of Columbus’s era however didn’t say the earth was round they said it is “flat.” Even though the way how the horizon forms and even the way how the sky has a round appearance it makes sense to say it is round, but the scientists still called it flat. These men of stature and education all where victims of being brainwashed into this false idea of living on a flat planet. The brainwashing was so great that it over road all logic and rational thinking.

The situation of Columbus is much like that of people today all over the world with their religions. They are born into a faith that brainwashes them and closes their mind on other faiths. People of educated backgrounds turn their backs on a logical faith all because of what they have been brainwashed into. This brain washing allows logical people who spend their whole lives studying mathematics and different sciences, areas which are completely logical and understanding, to follow faiths which not only counteract modern science and mathematics but some of these faiths even offset themselves.

For instance why would a logical person their back on a religion which while describing creation refers to the Big Bang:

Qur’an21:30 Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before I clove them asunder? I made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

Would a rational person even turn their back on a faith which in the same verse state all organisms are created from water?

Qur’an 21:30 …I made from water every living thing…

Would a person based on reason truly overlook a creed that testifies that it is the sun that creates light and not the moon?

Qur’an 71:16 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a Glorious Lamp”

On top of that it is a faith which speaks of the planets orbits and the ever expanding universe:

Qur’an 21:33 It is He Who created the Night and the Day, and the sun and the moon: all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course.

Qur’an 51:47 With power and skill did I construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace.

How could none but a divine faith be able to explain in the 7th century know that plants had sexual reproduction:

Qur’an 13:3 And it is He who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm and (flowing) rivers: and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two: He draweth the night as a veil o'er the Day. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who consider!

Amazingly enough people turn their backs on a faith that can accurately describe the nature of an embryo where the bones form before muscles. All of which was revealed before the 7th century:

Qur’an 23:14 Then I made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot I made a (fetus) lump; then I made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then I developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create!

Science has only within the past few years been able to prove the immense darkness of the ocean, and still these scientists turn their gaze to other faiths when the darkness of the ocean has been known for centuries:

Qur’an 24:40 Or (the Unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his hands, he can hardly see it! For any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!

Logically speaking it can be ascertained that the revelations in the Qur’an could not have been mere guessing for only until within the past century most of the aforementioned verses from the Qur’an have been verified to be true. For a person to guess about the all the aforementioned scientific phenomena to occur and be correct is a mathematically illegible number.

An Idea to Ponder for Non-Muslims

If you are a non-Muslim I would like you to ponder your faith. I want you to consider why you believe what you believe. What makes you certain your faith is from the All-Mighty? What do you have to prove that your way is “the right way?” When answering these questions however do not tell yourself a religion is divine solely because of the stories or laws that is has because just because a story has a good moral doesn’t mean it is from God and just because a law is logical doesn’t mean it is from God. So now think to yourself “What makes my religion the true faith?” “Does modern science agree with the teachings of my religious conviction?” ask yourself those questions and  ones like them they will not only educate yourself on your faith but may open your mind to other religions that might have more or completely accurate teachings.

The most remarkable way of how Columbus was like Islam however is the round earth concept:

Qur’an 79:30 And the hath the earth is egg-shaped

Salam,

The other day a very unique experience happened; I met a Muslim brother that I feel is full of faith. I met this brother at the Muslim Student Association Table at my university. At the table there where about 8posters that explained Islam to people passing by. The poster which explained Allah(swt) was on a stand behind where a Muslim sister was sitting. This brother of our spent a good deal of time complaining of how it is "not right" for her(or anyone for that matter) to sit in front of the poster. Eventually the sister had to leave and this brother rearranged the entire display so the poster of Allah(swt) could stand alone and beside or infront of anyone else or any other poster.

He also said another comment that made me respect him very much.. He asked me a question of much faith. He had a test in about one hour but he asked me "I dont know if I should study or read Quran?" I merely sat in awe unable to answer him.

Spread the dawa.

Now that I am older I walk by children and see them complaining of meanial pointless activities, "I need to get to practice mom." "I have to do my homework." "I have to get this pair of shoes.." "I need this toy."

I wanna just go up to these kids and say, "None of this stuff really matters. You will realize that it is all just a waste of time."

Now I am concerned with things like getting my projects for work turned in on time, never letting the sink fill up with dishes, making sure I see a new movie every week, and excercising everyday.

I need someone from years ahead of me to help me understand that all this stuff doesn't matter either.

I did however come across one of these people the other day, and he told me something i was not expecting. He told me, "It all does matter. On The Day of Judgement we will held accountable for all of our actions: the good, the bad, and the ones that take us away from our prayers." He told also pointed out, "That no task is ever wasted, staying steadfast in one's religion allows a task gain presitence over another. The only task that has the possiblity of being a waste is the one that takes one away from one's prayers."

I hope you all are having a wonderful Ramadan. Please take care and spread the Dawa.
